Sauvignon Blanc

The 2022 Hayes Valley Sauvignon Blanc is a unique new world approach to a classic old-world style of white wine production. The wine is made of 81% Sauvignon Blanc and 19% Semillon grapes and is hand-picked, and hand sorted to maintain the highest quality product when it hits the crush pad. The wine is allowed minimal skin contact and is aged and fermented at extremely cold temperatures. This technique allows the wine to maintain its crisp natural acidity, as well as preserve the vibrant aromatic characteristics that would traditionally escape during a warm fermentation. The California spin of bright citrus and bold melon characteristics blend well with an old-world mix of fresh cut grass and subtle minerality.

Pinot Grigio

Pinot Grigio is a noble variety with origins in Alsace, France. As a deviation of Pinot Noir, the Pinot
Grigio grape has pinkish-grey skin and yields a clean, easy-drinking wine with aromas of citrus,
apple and ripe stone fruits. The Hayes Valley Pinot Grigio is modeled after a more traditional
California style with crisp acidity, a lower alcohol content and a soft and smooth mouth feel.

Chardonnay

The Hayes Valley Chardonnay was created to find a happy balance between what used to be known as “California Style” heavily oaked Chardonnay and what is currently the trend in California with unoaked Chardonnays. The Hayes Valley Chardonnay uses just 20% oak influence and hits the middle ground of the two leaving you with just a kiss of oak.

The natural acidic structure from the California-grown grapes helps it stand up to a great meal, but the subtle tannic structure lets it stand alone as great sipping wine. The bright fruit notes classic to the Merlot varietal stand out and the undertones of vanilla and sweet oak help balance out the palate.

Meritage

The Hayes Valley Meritage is a true homage to the traditional blends that are crafted in the Bordeaux region of France, well known for its cooler climate and often overcast and muggy summers. Areas throughout California, like the Central Coast, are known for their cooler climate and dreary foggy mornings. This gives the Bordeaux varietals a chance to develop more intense and complex flavors that you won’t find in a hotter climate style of blend. Flavors and aromas of mushroom and slate coupled with black fruits and a mild tannin structure, mimic the idealistic style that comes from one of the best wine grape growing regions in the world.
